In November, The High Tatras are already covered by snow, it is very slippery and little too dangerous for my taste. If temperature balances near 0 degrees centigrade, rocks are covered with very thin, almost invisible layer of ice. Days are short, it rains or snows quite often, so in general conditions are very difficult. That's why usually, during this time of the year I focus on other areas - and there are few not so far away from my home that are very interesting even if it is cold and even if it rains.
Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland is one of such regions. Of course, landscape is completely different than in Tatras, where huge, granite, two-thousanders dominate the landscape. Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland is built from sandstone which creates spectacular rocky landscape, full of table mountains, rock bridges and narrow gorges. Most of the best viewpoints are accessible by short trails, so it is perfect region for short November days. If you are lucky and autumn is sunny, then it is very difficult to release shutter button in your camera.
This year, despite of erratic weather, I was able to catch few interesting views.
